Depth, Relationship, & the Wisdom of Slowing Down
At Blue Door, therapy is not a set of techniques applied to a problem. It is a genuine relationship — one that creates the conditions for something real to shift.
Our work integrates relational psychodynamic therapy and behavioural techniques, drawing on the idea that the patterns shaping our suffering rarely live on the surface. They are found in early experience, in the body, in the stories we have told ourselves for so long we no longer recognise them as stories. Growth and progress requires insight into this.
Part of what makes this kind of therapy different is a willingness to stay with what is not yet clear. Rather than moving quickly toward answers, we hold the uncertainty together — trusting that meaning emerges more fully when it isn’t forced. This is slow work, in the best sense. Work that lasts.
